Accountants are the core foundation of any business. When you hire an accountant who knows what they’re doing, your company is already on the road to success. It also doesn’t hurt to know a little about the basics accounting yourself to help yourself as much as possible. Here’s a few celebrities that you may (or may not) recognize who studied accounting before taking off in other career:

1. Chuck Liddell

Liddell graduated with a B.A. in business/accounting but soon after got into UFC and later became the Ultimate Fighting Championship Light Heavyweight Champion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Kenny G

Kenny G graduated with a degree in accounting but soon afterwards used that knowledge to help himself financially when his music career picked up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Robert Plant

Robert Plant, the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, was pressured into accounting lessons from his father but eventually chose to do music instead. Now we have Zeppelin.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger, frontman for Rolling Stones, started working on a degree in accounting but at the same time, he reconnected with some childhood friends that opened up the world of music to Mick Jagger. He worked on his degree for about a year before deciding to join his friends in Rock and Roll.

 

 

5. John D. Rockefeller

Rockefeller started out as an assistant bookkeeper for a shipping company before starting up his own business and became extremely successful.

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. Janet Jackson

Singer/songwriter, Janet Jackson, started out wanting to go into accounting but then changed her path entirely. However, she reportedly mentioned multiple times that she still would have been an accountant had she not gotten into singing.

 

 

While none of these celebrities actually ended up in an accounting position, they used their knowledge to help themselves become the successful people that they are today. Accountants and accounting knowledge can bring you and your business a long way to being successful.
